wat kind of movies do most people watch? wats yr fav genre?
me, well i prolly watch just abt anything, but i gotta admit, i do kinda like fluffy cheesy love stories in a way. the leads almost always get together in the end, and these fairy tale endings seem so nice.
action movies are cool too, all those piang piang boom. kirsten dunst. so cute! cant say i've never fallen asleep amidst barrages of gunshots and whizzing planes tho.
i find myself watching ghost shows alot too. asking for it, really. so scaredy-cat liao still wanna watch eyes pop out of their sockets and long haired, white robed females flitting about. The Ring spooked me so much that i was afraid to go into the bathroom for a whole week, or gaze into a mirror to comb the oh-so-fashionable center parting hair back in sec school.
but stories abt the spirit and friendship captivate me the most. not those that come in bottles with nice stickers, tales abt the human spirit.
tales of how, with the odds stacked so high, the guy still doggedly fights on. how he still soldiers on with unwavering determination, towards that singular goal in the face of insurmountable adversities. how he takes a beating, a battering, a knock too many, but still stands up and asks for more. its this strength and spirit that enthralls me, and wrings a tear or two. that's why i really quite like adidas' brand new advertising tagline:
Impossible is Nothing
that's why i enjoy Slamdunk and Naruto so much. nothing quite embodies the spirit im talking abt like Sakuragi frm slamdunk, and Naruto and Rock Lee frm the latter. these guys, they really really move me. and i cant forget how Luffy frm One Piece would fight the big baddies, take all of them on, mano a gango, to stand up for his comrades. ooh...
just watch a sixers game. just see how allen iverson, oft the smallest guy on the court would have the biggest game. he'd run his legs to the ground to win the game. playing his heart out. when the camera goes for a closeup of him, u can see the look in his eyes.
and jordan. how he'd drag his team by the collar, doing watever it takes to get the W. he'd have the same focussed, fiery look. like they're saying
"im not going to lose this game"
wah...
